Safety Score Improvement Plan Paper
The role of nursing leaders is crucial in driving these changes. It starts with raising awareness about the importance and promotion of hand hygiene as a routine practice, not just a task. As well as ensuring that adequate resources are made available for effective handwashing, such as soap/sanitizer and sinks/dispensers etc., nursing leaders need to ensure compliance with all established guidelines.
Nursing leadership should also strive to create a culture where it’s safe for staff members to openly report any lapses or problems related to handwashing practices without fear of retribution or criticism from their peers or superiors. These standards must be upheld by nursing leaders who should lead by example. They need to ensure that all employees under their care are properly trained in how to implement proper hand hygiene into daily routines.
