Business Strategy | Business & Finance homework help
When examining the competitive environment, it is important to identify a corporation’s most significant competitor in order to determine which company has the best chance of success in the long-term. Here are two examples of competitors. Although both companies provide similar services and products at affordable prices, their strategies differ at every level.
Company A, at the corporate level is focused on research and development. It has also invested extensively in cutting-edge technology that could help it capture a larger market share. Company B on the other side is focused to expand its global reach through strategic partnerships and local businesses. At the business unit level, both companies focus on product innovation; however, while Company A places emphasis on creating new products for different customer segments, Company B’s strategy involves enhancing existing offerings to gain an advantage over competitors.
The marketing levels of both companies use digital media for their primary tools to reach customers. Company A, however, uses segmentation and focuses on specific customer requirements/interests. Company B, on the other hand, opts for mass advertising campaigns that focus more heavily upon brand recognition. The operational side is where the differences are. Company A prioritizes employee training, while company B invests in cost-containment strategies such outsourcing or standardizing its processes.
Overall then it seems clear that each company’s unique strategy makes them well-suited for taking advantage specific opportunities available within current market—giving them ability compete against one another successfully without sacrificing long term gains either side . It is difficult to predict which company will win, but only time will tell.
