Unit 2 assessment – individual and societal impacts
Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been chosen as the next technological advance. The relatively new area of artificial intelligence (AI) combines machine learning algorithms with computing power to quickly process huge amounts of data and make complex decisions on their own. For example, AI can be used to identify patterns or trends in medical records thus helping clinicians make better diagnoses & treatments faster than if done manually. AI can predict the occurrence of adverse events, which could help to save lives and allow for preventive measures.
This is why AI can be such a desirable option for healthcare improvement. AI allows for better efficiency via automation and delivers more accurate results thanks to its ability to analyze huge amounts of data previously unaccessible by humans. Its adaptability means this technology can continue to improve over time, as new data is processed. This will allow it to be used in many industries beyond the medical sector. My choice is a reflection of the need to leverage emerging technologies to keep pace with the ever-changing world and provide the highest quality care for all patients, regardless of their circumstances.
