Iom nursing future report and nursing
These four messages are intended to influence and transform nursing education, training and leadership as well as workforce development. Nurses must use all of the training they have received. The second message encourages nurses take more responsibility and use their skills to deliver better patient care. Second message: Nurses and doctors should be encouraged to collaborate with each other. This will allow for better integration of healthcare providers as well as patient outcomes. Third message: Nurses should be encouraged to take leadership in healthcare policy shaping at all levels. This includes advocating for better safety standards and access to healthcare, as well as advocating to improve quality assurance data collection/analysis. The fourth message is that both the public and private sector should support nurse workforce development through financial investments, such as scholarships and grants to allow more people access high-quality programs in nursing.
By implementing these messages into nurse’s practices it has allowed them not only become invaluable members of the health team but also empowered them with the knowledge they need to make decisions that improve overall patient care while promoting growth within their field of study.
