- VARK has revealed that visual learning is my favorite method of learning. This is because I am most comfortable learning with visual aids (e.g. diagrams, charts and graphs).
- I prefer to use visual aids like diagrams and videos, take notes and create mind maps. Because they use visual aids, these strategies are in line with my preferred learning method. Additionally, I like to study in silence and free from distracting noises.
- Learning styles and learning abilities can have a significant impact on how a learner understands or executes educational activities. An educator who does not recognize the learning style of each student may be unable to communicate information effectively to them. If a topic is presented in only one way, for example, students with visual learning styles may struggle to understand it. To ensure all learners are capable of understanding information, educators must be able to recognize and communicate the learning style and preference of each student.
- Understanding the learning styles of individuals participating in health promotion is important to achieving the desired outcome because it allows educators to tailor their approach to the individual’s preferred learning style. If an individual is visual learner, such as a diagram or video, then they might benefit from visual aids like videos and diagrams when studying about health promotion topics. The likelihood of behavioral change is directly affected by learning styles. Individuals will adopt more positive behaviors when they see the information in ways that suit their preferred learning style. There are many teaching methods that can accommodate different learning styles in health promotion. To appeal to diverse learning styles, educators may use visual aids or group discussions.
