Evidence based practice | nursing
- The ACE Star Model is my favorite model to help support evidence-based projects. This model offers a systematic and clear approach for implementing evidence-based practice. The process is broken down into five steps: Acquire (Acquire), Appraise (Apply), and Assess. The model is easy-to-follow and practical. It emphasizes the importance to involve all parties in the process. The ACE Star Model is a tool that allows you to assess the implementation of evidence-based methods through the Assess stage.

- Because the biblical worldview emphasizes excellence and seeking truth, it is imperative that nurses engage with evidence-based practices initiatives. Evidence-based practice can help us love and support others as Christians. It is an effective way to achieve this goal through providing best care, based on all available evidence. The Bible also encourages us be wise and discernive in our actions and decisions. Evidence-based practice allows us to make informed, evidence-based decisions in the best interests of our patients.
The accountability/responsibility of the Christian nurse to pursue excellence through evidence-based practice involves staying up-to-date with the latest research and applying it in practice to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients. Christian nurses must also integrate faith and serve their patients with humility and compassion.
- Holding a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree influences my perspective on the “case for evidence-based practice” by emphasizing the importance of using evidence to guide clinical decision-making and improve patient outcomes. DNP will equip me with the knowledge and skills to evaluate and use research evidence and implement evidence-based practices in my workplace. My goal is to improve practice right at the point-of-care. I will collaborate with inter-disciplinary teams and use data to inform decision-making. A DNP will allow me to make a difference in nursing science through research, dissemination of findings, and improving patient outcomes.
