In the case of Apple, the company utilized its strong brand presence to differentiate its products from competing offerings by offering unique features/designs which could not be found elsewhere – thus minimizing any potential negative impact on sales.
Microsoft had a unique approach to this problem. They launched targeted ads that were aimed specifically at certain customer segments, rather than promoting their entire product line. This allowed them to focus resources more effectively & ensure that each product received adequate exposure moving forward.
Overall then it is clear that both companies adopted distinct strategies when addressing cannibalization – but ultimately succeeded in mitigating any potential losses due to their effective planning & execution going forwards.
