As a CFO-in-training, that is as one who is being trained for a future CFO job where taking FIN 645 is part of such training, and solely based on what you have learned so far in this class, what have you learned in this course that can help you in your future job as a CFO?

Through my time as CFO-in-training, I’ve learned so much about the role of the CFO. We have talked about how the CFO oversees financial operations, such as capital structure management, budgeting, forecasting, or forecasting. In addition, CFOs use risk management strategies to help protect their companies from financial loss due to volatility in the market or other unforeseeable circumstances.

Additionally, I am familiar with various accounting principles like Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. These help to ensure that financial data is accurately reported and analysed. I am now familiar with different types of financial statements including balance sheets & income statements; which can be used to assess the performance & health of companies over time.

In addition, this class has provided me with a greater understanding around topics such as mergers & acquisitions – helping me gain insight into important considerations when considering such decisions along with applicable methods/models that can be employed to evaluate potential outcomes.

Overall, taking FIN 645 has proven to be extremely beneficial towards my future career aspirations as it has given me a comprehensive overview of what is expected from CFOs within different industries & how they must effectively manage resources while still making sound strategic decisions going forward.
