Nurses can also reach out to legislators to voice concerns about legislation in progress or proposals. They can also use this method to voice their concerns and make sure that lawmakers are not making any decisions that might affect them or the patients they serve.
Nurses can also get involved in professional associations such as the state nursing association, which monitors legislative activity and advocates for policy that is beneficial to them and their patients. By doing so, they can become more informed about how laws are made while helping support efforts that result in favorable outcomes when it comes time for a bill’s passage.
