My role was that of a bank manager in a simulation. I provided loans to various entities, and managed our assets and liabilities. I was able to develop my decision-making skills by evaluating applicants’ creditworthiness, analyzing potential risks associated with each loan and determining how much capital should be allocated towards certain projects or investments. In order to achieve mutually-beneficial agreements, both the clients and I improved our negotiation skills.
In order for the bank to remain compliant with all applicable laws and continue making profitable investments, I had to be up-to-date about market trends. It was important to have a diverse portfolio, so that we don’t overexposed if any investment fails. I gained a greater understanding of banking principles through these experiences, which is invaluable for my future ventures.
