One researcher might be interested in the effects of certain drugs on human bodies, while another may study the behaviour of an animal species. Researchers need to determine the appropriate size of their sample, depending on what kind of data they’re collecting. They will choose one of two methods to implement their sampling strategy, stratified or random, depending on which type or question the researcher wants to address.
