These include a complete blood count (CBC), to rule out anemia, cholesterol, blood sugar levels, blood glucose, electrolytes, blood glucose, thyroid function tests (TSH, Thyroxine, Triiodothyronine and T3), serum creatinine to test for kidney function, C-reactive protein to assess inflammation and C-reactive protein to evaluate the level of blood pressure. Another imaging test may be requested, including ultrasound to determine if plaque has built up in the arteries and stress tests that measure how healthy your heart is during cardiac catheterization or physical activity. Additionally, electrophysiology can be used to assess irregular heart rhythms.
