Discuss three lessons you’ve learned about environmental science in week 7.
The slide presentation about plastic bags revealed that plastic bag use has increased alarmingly since 2000. According to estimates, the average person in the world consumes 1 million plastic bags each minute. 5 trillion plastic bags are produced every year. The consequences of littering and pollution on the environment, as well as their impact on marine wildlife, are severe. Only 9% actually recycle plastics, which allows the majority to create new raw materials and thus contributes to global warming.
Given these facts, my advice to the general public would be to limit or eliminate their use of such products. I also recommend using reusable alternatives whenever you can. This will reduce the amount of waste produced by society. If must absolutely necessary still select recyclable options carry along own grocery store replenish stock when wear out; doing so will ensure resources spent properly & benefit both environment & overall well-being planet earth alike! In closing phrase I’d like leave everyone with reminder “Lessen Plastics – Embrace Reusables: Together We All Can Make Difference.
