Discussion: Unit 3 | Nursing homework help
Popular culture can have a significant effect on peoples’ political opinions by providing them with an entertaining way to engage in discourse surrounding current events. It can also be beneficial to encourage people to learn more about the world around them, so they’re better equipped for this election season. Knowledge is power. This can be a way for people who might not otherwise have access to public forums for their opinions about politics, such as minorities or low-income families that may feel intimidated.
However pop culture also has its drawbacks as it can lead to sensationalizing current affairs in order garner attention instead of aiming for accuracy & staying true to facts. There may also be motives behind the dissemination of messages on political topics that are only intended to serve certain interests, such as lobbying or campaign donations. Thus overall I believe that while popular culture has its benefits regarding communication of political ideas we must always stay vigilant against shady practices & misinformation campaigns that could further hamper progress towards a better future & sense real change across multiple areas throughout society.
