My Work Environment Assessment showed that most employees have positive views of the work environment. The results revealed that most employees feel satisfied with their jobs and that there are ample opportunities to grow and develop. My assessment identified several areas where there could be improvement, such as improved communication between managers and employees as well as recognition of employee achievements. These results surprised me considering the economic environment, but they suggested that morale is high within the company.
The article I selected related to my Assessment was about a concept known as “Transformational Leadership” (Burns, 1978). The theory states that leaders need to inspire others through their personal examples, thoughtful behavior and example of ethical conduct. This leadership builds trust and inspires followers to be open to taking risks and contributing heavily toward achieving the organizational goals.
My Assessment results show that employees feel satisfied with their jobs, but they wish there was more to be done. The Transformational Leadership model provides useful strategies on how organizations can create stronger teams by providing visible evidence of appreciation towards employees and creating avenues where open dialogue can occur freely amongst all workers leading healthier relationships & thus fostering better work environment.
This company can apply the theory by introducing regular review systems. Members team get feedback from higher ranking colleagues. These reviews could take place in surveys/interviews or other media, depending on certain factors such as size of department or specific individuals. It would help staff identify strengths, weaknesses and set up continuing education programs to facilitate the transition into newer roles. You can also use budgetary resources to create reward systems each quarter. This will encourage sense of accountability and greater team achievement. It will make your workforce happier, better equipped to face any challenge.
