Children’s Functional Health Pattern Assessment
Age Range: 9-11 Jahre
These children are more concerned with their physical appearance than they are about social interactions. Children at this age are more concerned about their physical appearance than their peers. Some children may feel self-conscious about how they look in terms of their hair, weight and clothes. Nine- and eleven year olds have a higher likelihood of engaging in social interactions outside their home. This is because they are seeking independence from parents. Their peer groups also become increasingly important at this age, leading them to be influenced by their friends’ behaviors and beliefs systems more so than those of adults or family members.
A nurse may discover that children are prone to poor nutrition, such as a desire for junk foods or new risk-taking behaviors like smoking and experimenting with drugs or alcohol. Low nutrition could be due to children becoming more independent and making decisions on what they eat. However, financial constraints may make it difficult for them to have access to nutritious options. Risk taking is another behavior common among nine to eleven year olds due largely emotional changes associated with puberty that can lead them into dangerous situations if they’re not adequately monitored by responsible adults in their lives.
