Florida Community Windshield Survey – Tampa, FL
The purpose behind this project is to first provide basic knowledge about our city’s population demographics in order to better understand who our target audience would be for any sort of public health interventions. I obtained information on common diseases found within the community (e.g., diabetes & hypertension) as well as characteristics like age & gender distribution so that we can begin tailoring our initiatives towards those groups specifically. Additionally, it is important to recognize any disparities between different neighborhoods when attempting to achieve equitable access across all areas — something which this survey allowed me to do by comparing both socio-economic conditions alongside physical/environmental statistics like air quality or healthcare access availability among others.
Finally , after completing my presentation it was shared with an identified entity within my surveyed community – namely one particular school district superintendent: Dr. William Jones – who expressed great interest upon hearing about its findings since his position allows him influence over vast populations students through implementation certain wellness policies proposed these results thus allowing us bring together key stakeholders able make impactful decisions benefit everyone involved positively shape future generations come.
