To help create a new environment, you have been appointed as a city planner.
To provide electricity to the metro area I suggest a mix of natural gas, nuclear power, and coal-fired power stations. This plan is expected to cost $14.15 trillion and will have monthly expenses of $6 million. Based on an initial budget of 10 Billion for the first and then 1 Billion for every subsequent year, this proposal will be feasible. A total power output of 3000 megawatts is required to sustain the population at the moment. However, there are still some options for future growth.
There are advantages and disadvantages to using renewable energy sources
The advantages of renewable energy are many, compared to traditional systems like reducing pollution and greenhouse gas emission. This is a crucial benefit in areas where pollution levels can reach dangerously high levels due to industrial activity or heavy traffic (Lavalle and al. 2020). When combined with other technologies like batteries, renewable energy sources, such as solar or wind power, could become cheaper than conventional methods. However there are disadvantages that need to be considered before deciding on an energy source; these include high start up costs associated with construction and installation as well as reliability issues related to conditions like light availability or wind speed (Gmür et al., 2019).
Concerning population growth
One problem with renewable energy is the dependence they have on outside factors. This could cause supply shortages. This could make things more complicated when trying to keep adequate performance. As a result, the system allows high level flexibility and adapts to fluctuations. Different sectors can be used. Future opportunities are possible.
