Committee Report No. 11: Senate Committee on Foreign Relations
Jurisdiction. The Senate Committee on Foreign Relations is responsible for foreign policy matters, such as the conduct of international relations and protection of American citizens overseas. It also has the authority to nominate ambassadors and senior foreign service officers.
There are four subcommittees to the committee.
- Africa and Global Health Policy
- East Asia and the Pacific as well as International Cybersecurity Policy
- Europe and Regional Security Cooperation
- Transnational Crime, Civilian Security, Democracy, Human Rights, Global Women’s Issues, Western Hemisphere
Members: Senator Robert Menendez (D–NJ), Senator Chris Murphy (D-CT) and Senator Jim Risch, (R-ID) are currently the chairmen of this committee. The committee also includes Senators Bob Corker, Christopher Coons, Marco Rubio (R–FL), Chris Murphy (D–CT), and Christopher Coons (D–DE).
