The American Psychological Association formatting style is a widely used citation format in the fields of psychology and social sciences. These citations are also called parenthetical or in-text. They indicate the location of specific information that was used from another source. The citations need to include the author’s last names, publication year and page number in parentheses at end of relevant sentence. Ex. Smith 2020, 23.
Directly quoting directly from a source should contain the author’s last names, publication year and page number. Example: Smith, 2020. ‘The results of this study have significant implications for future research.’ 23).”
A reference list, which lists all sources that were cited in your paper should be added at the end. It should include the following information: author last name and initials, publication year, title of work, publication year, publication date, title of work, alphabetical order, followed by the author’s first name. Each reference should be formatted with the following information: author name, initials, publication year and title.
