Relationships are a sensitive topic. As financial disputes and failures can be a predictor of the future success or failure of a relationship over time, Mary Loftus points out in her book “Till Debt Do Us Part.” The question is whether the couple’s financial settlements ultimately decide the success of their relationship.
My opinion is that how a couple resolves their financial differences plays an important role in the longevity of the relationship. If a couple can communicate honestly and openly about their finances, and then work together to resolve financial disputes, it will strengthen the relationship and ensure long-term success. If a couple cannot have honest and open communication regarding their finances it can cause resentment and mistrust which could ultimately result in the end of the relationship.
It’s also important to remember that not only can financial problems and failures predict success in a relationship, but so does trust, communication, shared values, and mutual respect. The success of any relationship is also determined by other factors like trust, communication, shared values, and communication.
